This self-guided walk follows the Camino Primitivo which is the route along the Atlantic coast.This is the wildest route, along coastal paths, to reach Santiago de Compostela , crossing Basque Country, Asturias and Galicia. Once you have reached Oviedo the route is called Camino Primitivo walked by Alfonso II in the 9th century. Oviedo is a major place to visit with the Cathedral and the relics which the pilgrims used to venerate and even if they were walking on the Camino Frances they made the detour from Leon.
